{3} A section of Manor Farmhouse was erected by Sir Robert Banastre, Comptroller of the Royal Household to James I from 1626. The work had apparently been completed by the time of his death in 1646. Manor Farmhouse was rebuilt, leaving part of a possibly 17th century building as a north wing.
This building is largely a rebuild of the early 18th century, attached to a probably 2-storey 17th building, which became the north-west wing.
The building comprises a 2 1/2 storey brick built house with a near-symmetrical 4-bay rendered front and an entrance in the third bay within an added l9th century open porch. There is a 2-bay wing on the right, set back, and a single storey stone range on the left (south), extended from its south gable by a further shorter stone range. Wooden modillion cornice. All roofs have plain tiles. The main building has a 2- storey stair tower at the rear.
Source also contains detailed building description, plans and photos.
