Full Description
{1} Cremation burial, unearthed by ploughing. A 250mm square cist, 80mm deep (depth reduced by plough damage), formed in a roughly dressed block of limestone approx 460mm square by 250mm thick, contained calcined bones, fragments of a buff coloured flagon, a 100mm diameter bronze "snake chain" necklet, a 38mm diameter twisted bronze bracelet, 23 brown and 2 green glass beads. The small dimensions of the jewellry indicate a child's burial. It may be dated to the 2nd century.
