Full Description

{1}By 1898 the mill located here was worked by steam and water.

{4} Labelled as Norton Mill in 1812.

{5} 1274 Reference to mill of Kingesthorn.
1551 Reference to Kingethorne Mylne.
1783 John Bull, of Kingthorne Mill, in the parish of Greens Norton, miller and baker, insured his dwelling house, millhouse and bakehouse, all under one roof, brick, stone and thatch, for £130.
1884 Mill advertised for sale as working four pairs of stones driven by an overshot water wheel and a 12 horse power stationary steam engine.
1928 Described as 'In work'.
C1930 Mill stopped work.
Later demolished to make way for a house.
1939 House completed by outbreak of WWII.
1966 Waterwheel buried with only the top quarter showing above ground. The iron wheel, estimated to be 12ft diameter by 6ft wide was lettered 'G Walker & Slater'.
