Summary

Situated on the northern side of The Lane, at its junction with West Street is an 18th century building constructed of coursed limestone rubble with Collyweston slate roofs. The eastern part of the building is single story and attic with a gabled dormer and a bakehouse cross wing with a cart entrance. The western side was rebuilt in the mid 19th century as the White Horse Public House. This part has a symmetrical façade of flat arched windows with keystones and a central round arched window. The roof is double pitched with dressed stone gable chimney stacks.

Full Description

{2} No 1, one storey and attics, with bands of ironstone in the walls, one room surviving from a larger 17th or 18th-century house. West part rebuilt in the 19th century as the White Horse public house. Former bakehouse to the east.

{3} An 18th century building constructed of coursed limestone rubble with Collyweston slate roofs. The eastern part of the building is single story and attic with a gabled dormer and a bakehouse cross wing with a cart entrance. The western side was rebuilt in the mid 19th century as the White Horse Public House. This part has a symmetrical façade of flat arched windows with keystones and a central round arched window. A small hexagonal datestone is visible on the south facing elevation. The roof is double pitched with dressed stone end stacks.
