Full Description

{1} A number of treeholes were spread out across the surface of layer 3.13 representing the clearing of woodland cover. Scattered flints were recovered across this layer signifiying that tree cover was progressively cleared over the early prehistoric period. An isolated sub circular cremation pit measuring 0.6m in diameter and 0.25m deep was cut into the surface of this layer.
A collection of cremated bones were placed centrally within the pit with large pieces of charcoal set around the edges. Small flakes of flint were recovered with the cremation suggesting a prehistoric date.
