Full Description

{1} An early Post-Medieval land drain ran SE to NW across the NE end of Trench D draining into the existing fled boundary ditch. The drain was constructed with sandstonefor the upright sides and limestone blocks used as capping stones. Trench E contained a ditch of length 1.5m, width 1.8m and a depth of 0.82 m. The sides sloped at 40 degrees with a flat base. A single small ditch was located in Trench F running NE to SW with 45 degree sloping sides and an irregular base. Trench K contained an associated ditch and pit. The pit with 60 degree sloping sides measuring 1.3m, width 1m and a depth of 0.2m. The ditch ran NE Sw across the west end of the trench with 30-40 degree sloping sides.
