Full Description
{2} Possibly built in the 1930's. A T-shaped office/hall block and garages, workshops, staff housing etc. Not currently in use. Former Drill hall and TA centre.
{3} Former Drill Hall and TA Centre proposed in January 2003 for use as the town's volunteer Bureau. Currently boarded up and empty. The new TA Centre is based at St Marks Road, Corby.
{4} Built in 1962 and extended in 1967. The original design was an L-shaped building with a cross wing projecting from the centr eof the main façade to Elizabeth Street. The second phase saw the addition of a second L-shaped range, added to the courtyard of the first, with garaging and stores beyond. The drill hall is built from brown brick in stretcher bond with a pitched copper roof. The main entrance is within the projecting cross wing emphasised by wooden panelling and a balcony above the doorway with thin metal railings with a W-shaped pattern. In the apex of the gable is a stone plaque depicting the castle insignia of the Northamptonshire Regiment: the best clue that the building is, in fact, a drill hall.
