Full Description

{1} {1} An area of small enclosures with roundhouse plots and other internal features ranged along either side of a broad ditched thoroughfare aligned east to west. The enclosures were sub-circular and sub-rectangular in shape and within some of them were smaller ditches and pits. There were also smaller features outside the enclosures.

{2} Two co-joining sub-rectangular enclosures were located to the south of a probable east to west aligned droveway. The eastern smaller enclosure appeared to consisit of two large ditches, of which one was re-cut. Trench 3 investigated the southern enclosure ditch of the western, larger enclosure. A large re-cut ditch formed the enclosure boundary. Ceramics recovered from this southern complex have been dated to the middle to late Iron Age, the latter suggesting that this part of the site fell out use later than the enclosures to the north of the droveway.
