Full Description

{1} A series of rectilinear enclosures were found positioned on either side of a east to west aligned droveway. This settlement was linked by the droveway to another small settlement to the west (pref ref 9181). It appears that this settlement was geographically separated from this settlement and they may have functioned as separate landscape units, such as small farmsteads. The individual farmstead elements took advantage of the slightly higher underlying gravel terraces, with the 'apparent blank areas' only utilised for low level activity, such as associated field systems.
