Full Description

{1} Linear ditches on a similar north-east to south-west alignment were recorded in several trenches. These regular shaped anomalies were interpreted as field systems. This ladder patterned field system comprised a series of regular rectilinear features aligned on a track. This appeared to date to the early Roman period, an indeed the majority of pottery found in association with these features was mid-late 1st century coarseware.
A second phase of field system located to the east and west of the track, was a series of enclosures that lay on a different alignment.
