Please read our .

Summary

A boot and shoe factory that is located on Partridge Street, Wollaston. The earliest phase of this three-storey boot and shoe factory may date to as early as the 1860s. This is a five-bay range on the corner of Thrift Street and St Michael's Lane, with an east front to the latter. In it's distinctively low broad proportions and absence of architectural embellishment it is similar to other early shoe factories such as the Castle Works in Long Buckby.

Full Description

{1} Trylon, on the corner of Thrift Street and St Michaels Lane is, next to the large building in Irchester Road, the most striking shoe factory in the village. The present company took the building over in 1966. It is a three storey redbrick building which was the first shoe factory (A. W. Partridges) to be built in Wollaston in 1883. It has pilasters on the side of the building in an alternative redbrick, which separates the three bays, this same brick is used for the solider course above the windows. There is evidence of a small amount of alteration to the front. This building may be worth more detailed surveying.
