Summary

Wesleyan Chapel set back from High Street built in 1840. Coursed rubble and slate, three-bay pedimented front, tall narrow windows, and central entrance with paired pilasters and entablature. To the rear, fronting onto College Street is a School, built in 1898.

Full Description

{1}The Baptists, Methodists and Congregationalists have met in Wollaston since the 1730s. The present Methodist church was built in 1840 and Sunday school rooms added later.

{2} Coursed rubble and slate, three bay pedimented front with painted wood mouldings, tall narrow windows, central entrance with paired pilasters and entablature, and gable tablet dated 1840.

{3}[To the rear, with a frontage on College Street] is the Wesleyan School built in 1898 [1888?] by J Blunt, architect.
