Full Description

{1}Wollaston had its own fire brigade (formed in 1906) which was housed in purpose built premises, The Ambulance Room shared with St John’s Ambulance, on Queens Road, which was built in 1923. This wooden frontage is still standing, although the remainder of the property has fallen into disrepair and is likely to be taken down completely in the near future for safety reasons. However, the building does not provide any information which may add to our understanding of the development of Wollaston or that of the fire brigade or St Johns Ambulance.
