Full Description

{1} In 1801 Robert Roberts, a pipemaker like his father, was appointed keeper of the town-gaol. He conducted his business of pipe-making on the gaol premises, latterly with his son Edward, who in 1830 took premises in Scarletwell Street. Pipes were made at 63 Scarletwell Street until c.1920. It was demolished in 1955.
