Full Description
{1} The surface ROC post is known from a published documentary source -"Attack Warning Red". The surface post was opened in 1938 and closed in 1968. The site of this surface post is believed to be lost under modern housing. A subsequent underground ROC post opened at a different location (6467/0/2).
{2} In summer of 1965 RAF decided that no longer required services of ROC in low-level reporting role; last 280 or so active overground structures became redundant; Kettering opened 1938; ngr 874804; closed Oct 1968;There were 19 Observer posts in Northants during WW2. Identifying number for Kettering was L2.
