Full Description
{1} Later 13th/14th century date for the five sherds from "Just above the topsoil 2ft down", (though the glazed sherd might go into the 15th century); also that this glazed sherds appears to have been made at the Brill potteries in Buckinghamshire. There is one sherd of "local medieval shelly ware", source difficult to determine. The other three buff, grey-cored sherds are probably "early Potterspury" but we do suspect there are other kiln sources for this rather indistinctive material. And there is a piece of what could certainly be medieval roofing tile with mortar adhering, so No.25 Main Road may have had a medieval house on the site previously.
