Full Description

{1} One of the earliest features was a large steep-sided and flat bottomed rubbish pit, which was truncated by a medieval ditch. This pit contained a single deposit of dark grey silty clay and 13th to 14th century pottery sherds. A small, shallow pit in the central part of the site contained sparse pottery dating from the mid-12th century including part of a Banbury jar and sparse burnt animal bone.
