Full Description
{1} Purpose built c.1974, this new warehouse-type building was designed by Walker Godwin Cooper Group Partnership, to plans published by Shaw Crammond. The mainly rectangular building was aligned exactly east-west. The majority of the interior was open plan, with only a small number of rooms on the work floors. An entrance block on the north side contained mainly smaller offices. Although two storied in part, the split level arrangement of its floors had achieved a low external, single storied façade. Its visual impact on the surroundingcountryside was also reduced by being built on a terrace into the west side of the hilltop to the west of the main St Crispins Hospital block, which is now also screened by mature trees.
