Full Description
{1} Late 19th and / or early C20th Tennis Court: approx centre SP77346165, being located a short distance north of the earth mound and the bandstand within the western part of the park. This is also present on the OS 6" map of 1924. The rectangular court is aligned approx. North-south and measures c. 60 x 30 metres. Slight east-west scarp recorded on AE Brown's Abington DMV earthwork almost certainly marks the north side of the court. Some of the earthworks recorded by Dr Welsh in a report to the SMR may also be associated {2}.
