{6} Prehistoric or Roman rectangular settlement enclosure close to the river on the east side of the Welland Valley with a possible annexe to the south and a probable hut circle in the south east corner. The main enclosure is centred at SK 9851 0128 and is defined by a broad ditch c.3.5m across. The SW side is open or missing and it has an entrance in the middle of the NE side which passes through a gap in an outer fragmented ditch. The NE corner is more angular than the SE corner. A 200m long curving linear ditch likely to be a former boundary cuts through the site, intersecting the SE corner of the enclosure, but it is not clear from the crompark if this lies beneath the enclosure or respects it. The probable hut circle (17m in diameter) is located in the curve of the SE corner at SK9854 0127. These remains have been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Rutland Roman Villa project.
