Full Description
{1} Small workers terraced cottage. The house is constructed of limestone with a Collyweston slate roof; it is part of a row of four cottages. The plan of the building is a simple two cell plot with two rooms upstairs and two downstairs. It was not possible to gain access to the interior of the building, which was being renovated, but there were some surviving features inside the building including the original staircase and fireplace. Other elements such as interior doors and the first floor ahd been stripped out. There were two outbuildings in the yard of the cottage - a general store (of stone construction) and a privy (of brick construction). Both buildings are divided into two to provide accommodation for cottages 68 and 70.
The row of terraced cottages is set behind a stone wall and a long front garden facing on to Park Street. The front doors of each of the cottages are actually at the back of the properties and face into open country side; photos.
