Full Description

{1} Watching brief identified Roman occupation.

{2} Ditches, a corndrier and other signs of occupation were noted near the villa during the construction of a bypass.

{3} A 1951 OS aerial survey shows lighter and darker patches in this field, including some marks resembling a "T" and an "M". It is not a well formed T and therefore it does not seem so likely it was a crop dryer - besides it measures 15m, much larger than the one found at Wollaston.
