Monument record 9575/0/1 - Possible Bronze Age Cairn (Site S3)

Cairn (Earthworks). Known as either Site 3 or Site 8 in surveys by David Hall

{1} "a mound of stone 15m in diameter and about 1m high with only slight vegetation cover. ..the mound may be another Bronze Age cairn."

{2} Inspection confirmed the presence of a low earthwork mound, with frequent small and medium sized projecting and surface fragments of limestone. The limestone might well be frequent in nature, though ground cover precludes confirmation. Some (a small quantity?) of limestone fragments appear to have moved down slope away from the earthwork. No clear earthwork evidence present for the presence of an enclosing ditch.
