A large mound of stones which lies close to a known cairn. However, the origin of this mound is unknown and may be more modern.

Full Description
{2} Stone feature; occupying the north side of the green lane or ride which runs along the north side of Buxton Wood is a large pile of medium and large limestone fragments. This lies a short distance east of the cairn S8. The pile of stones covers an area of approx. 4 by 4m and is at least 1.5m high. It has partially tumbled or slumped into the hedge, which separates the land from the adjoining arable farm to the north. Whether it represents stone collected from the adjoining field or results from another activity, undetermined. No feature is depicted at this location on the 1st edition OS.
