Monument record 2751/1/3 - Bronze Age round barrow and/or post-medieval windmill, south-west of Walcot Lodge

Please read our .

Summary

Cropmarks of a ring ditch with central feature identified on aerial photographs. It was interpreted as a possible Bronze Age barrow as part of the Northants NMP and as a possible post medieval windmill by Historic England since a central cross was visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme. There are known examples of Bronze Age round barrows being reused as medieval/post-medieval windmills, so both interpretations may be valid.
