Full Description

{2} West and north west of the moat there was formerly a group of other earthworks, now destroyed. They consisted of a length of bank with a ditch on the west side, with turned east at its south end, and enclosed a small sunken rectangular platform, probably a former house site. To the south was a circular arrangement of ditches, perhaps of recent date, and other banks to the north and north east.

{3} A small excavation at Northall found no indication of occupation, but may have been located in the area of the fishpond rather than within the moat.

{4} A rectangular area was picked up by geophysics in the area of the former house site, which could represent the rubble spread of a building. This building seems at one time to have been defended by a bank and ditch which have since been destroyed. The relationship between this site and the main moated site is unknown, however.
