Monument record 3531/0/1 - Undated Enclosure

Two trial trenches excavated over the line of the northern arm failed to find any evidence of the ditches.

{1} NCCAP:SP8762/053-6.

{2} Air photos show the south-west part of a rectangular enclosure with markedly straight sides and a number of indeterminate interior features. The enclosure is intersected by several linear ditches, one of which extends south-west to meet another, more irregular enclosure. The latter has two ring ditches or hut circles intersecting its south-east side. Fig.159.

{3}Two trenches excavated over the line of a double ditched cropmark. No ditch lines or other features observed; only finds were 1 sherd of medieval pottery, a possible flint and a piece of welsh roof slate. Intense manuring may be partially responsible for cropmark.
