Monument record 1335/0/2 - Saxon to medieval wood banks
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Possible medieval or post-medieval curving boundary ditches are visible as cropmarks on historic aerial photographs. Located over 2 parliamentary inclosed fields about 525 metres NNE of Bozeat Grange, the sinuous ditches extend over 750 metres NW-SE and 175 metres SW-NE. The cropmark ditches appear to link to medieval fields extant on the 1st Edition OS map which formed assarts on the edge of former Bozeat Wood, which is recorded on 1815 OS maps, but which appears to have been mostly cleared by 1885.
