Summary

Prehistoric or Roman parallel ditched trackways located 600 metres north of Tansor village. The ditches can be traced on air photographs from a point close to the River Nene across the parish boundary with Warmington to a point northwest of the old railway where they turn northeast to join a settlement site on the edge of the River Nene floodplain.

Full Description

{2} Cropmarks of a long length of parallel ditches, probably a trackway running in a NE-SW direction. At its SW end this trackway turns W and passes into Tansor parish where it can be traced back to the R. Nene. Probably associated with a prehistoric/Roman settlement.

{3} TL 0540 9149: Trackway located 600 metres north of Tansor village on River Gravel at 75 feet above OD. Two parallel ditches 5 metres apart, probably a trackway, running east to west. The ditches can be traced on air photographs from a point close to the River Nene (TL 0513 9151) across the parish boundary with Warmington (at TL 0554 9151), to a point northwest of the old railway (TL 0586 9141), where they turn northeast to join a settlement site on the edge of the River Nene floodplain. The total traceable length is slightly over 1 kilometre.
