Full Description

{1} A rectangular enclosure 0.32ha in area was identified in cropmarks and later confirmed by trial trenching. Three ditches were revealed in trenches at the south-east and south-west corners. Dimensions were approximately 3.3m wide x 1.3m deep; all ditches were aceramic.

{2} Cropmarks of rectangular and sub-rectangular enclosures and ditches; NCCAP:SP9876/012-16.

{3} Magnetometer survey identified elements of the western and central enclosures, but anomalies were poorly defined making an overall interpretation impossible.
Two trial trenches were excavated in the central enclosure, where the south-west corner was formed by a large ditch some 3.3m wide and at least 1.3m deep. The second trench located two ditches of similar dimensions which probaly formed the sides of the enclosure close to the south-east corner. No finds were present in any of the ditches.
