Monument record 1/0/8 - Possible Romano-British Settlement Features (Morphed Aerial Archaeology Interpretation)

{2} The cropmark evidence suggests two main phases for the settlement. The second is of intensive Romano-British occupation, comprising several metalled roads converging 100m to the north west of the presumed nucleus of Iron Age activity. The main road would appear to be that running approximately east-west, along which are aligned a number of enclosures and traces of stone buildings. It is, however, clear from the way in which a number of cropmark features cross and the change in alignment of the east-west road near the centre of the site that there is a long and far more complex sequence to be unravelled.
