Monument record 1426/0/1 - Undated Enclosure
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Cropmark of a rectilinear enclosure was identified on aerial photographs. Archaeological evaluation in 2022 confirmed the presence of the northern enclosure ditch, but no dating evidence was found, possibly suggesting that it was used for stock control rather than settlement.

Full Description
{2} Trial trench excavation undertaken in 2022 identified the northern arm of the enclosure. No finds were recovered from the ditch fill, possibly suggesting that it was used for stock control rather than for settlement use. A further undated ditch aligned north to south inside the enclosure may be a former field boundary perhaps pre-dating 19th century enclosure.
