Monument record 228/0/1 - Possible prehistoric/Roman enclosure, north-east of Green Acres Farm

Ditches on air photographs. A small quantity of Roman pottery has been found in the same field and Roman settlement has been identified immediately to the north-west.

{1} Air photos show very indistinctly a group of linear ditches. Aerial photos 5439/1-3;

{5} Aerial photographs taken by English Heritage in 2013 show the cropmark remains of a probable later prehistoric ditch-defined teardrop shaped enclosure located at SP 5449 3950, approximately 50m x 60m with its pointed end pointing SSW. The site and the surrounding field is criss-crossed with cropmarks of finer ditches, but these are likely to be a result of the underlying geology.
