Full Description

{2} Earthworks of house platforms on the east side of the through road. There are now only two modern houses here. The same pattern of earthworks repeats on the west side of the road Info: Paul Everson.

{3} To the south east of the church, on the east side of the main through road, are areas of disturbed ground clearly representing former house-sites with long narrow closes extending down the hillside behind them. To the north east are further house-sites and closes, but these are more regular with the ditched and embanked boundaries exactly straight. On the north west side of the road, the present manor house and its garden has destroyed any house-sites that existed but the fragmentary remains of evenly spaced closes suggest that the whole north east part of the village was a planned addition to the older south western part.
