Full Description

{2} Circular interrupted earthwork sites. At one time suspected to be possible WWII era balloon tethering locations. During August 2002 A. Armishaw visited to inspect. He reports that he paced out the rings and that each is 15.5m diameter from the centre of the enclosing mounds. Each of the mounds is approx 2.5m across. The mounds and the centre of the rings were probed but nothing solid was found. The absence of concrete militates against these being balloon tethering sites.
