Monument record 2830/2/2 - Site of medieval/post-medieval hunting lodge (Middle Lodge)

One of three lodges associated with King's Cliffe Deer Park in 1600. No trace now remains, although building platforms identified on aerial photographs during the Northants NMP may be related.

{1} Documentary evidence for the location of a medieval/post-medieval hunting lodge within King's Cliffe deer park. In 1600 there were three lodges in the park, nothing remains of this one. It was known as Middle Lodge.

{5} The RAF photograph clearly indicates extensive cropmarks in this location.
