Full Description

{2} Squarish or sub-rectangular enclosure of c.2 acres. To the north are faint crop marks of what may be further enclosures attached to it.

{3} Enclosure (SP 727550) lies in the N of the parish, on Upper Lias Clay at 80 m. above OD. Air Photographs (not seen by RCHM) are said to show a rectangular enclosure of just under 1 hectare, perhaps with other enclosures attached to it on the north.

{5} Trial trench excavation confirmed the existence of the enclosure, although late medieval pottery was recovered from the upper ditch fills
