Full Description

{2} Probable medieval fishponds in bottom of broad, open valley. Some damage by modern development. There appear to have once been three separate ponds. The south-easternmost is the only complete one, and was almost square, flat-bottomed, and bounded on the NE and SW by a low scarp 0.5m high. At its SE, down-stream, end is a large earthen dam up to 2m high, broken in the centre to allow the modern stream to pass through.

{2} Dam 2m high and 9m wide across a broad valley; the pond area to the north-west has now been partially levelled for a recreation area;

{5} Additional earthworks probably represent inlet channels at the north-west end of the pond; probably one of a series of ponds possibly relating to Abington Manor; SP787611.
