Full Description

{2} Village earthworks photographed in 1974.

{3} NCCAP:SP6763/001-10+13-14.

{4}The more extensive remains include a large, sub-rectangular enclosure on the north side of the hamlet at SP671632. This is bounded on the north and west by a bank and inner ditch and on the south by a low scarp. The latter has been said to be connected with the Roman road which crosses the site at this point, but this is unlikely. The enclosure is sub-divided internally into four closes bounded by shallow ditches.

{5} Peculiar series of ditches (up to 10ft deep) and banks in two adjoining pasture fields found in January 1970.
