Monument record 627/1/1 - Medieval/Post Medieval Ponds

The remains of fishponds.

{1} Fishponds close to the small stream which forms the northern boundary of the parish. Air photos (of 1947?) show two small rectangular depressions which appear to be simple, unembanked ponds with no visible system of leats. The site has now been ploughed and only slight depressions remain. In 1847 the area was called Briers Orchard, but no ponds are marked.
