Full Description

{1} Although partly filled, the moat and ponds are well-preserved. The island is 140ft x 110ft.

{2} The moat is noted by Bridges.

{3} Earthworks of a square moated site 60m x 55m, with island of 30m square. It is surrounded by a flat-bottomed ditch 7m wide x 2m deep and there are slight traces of both inner and outer banks. There is no visible causeway. A raised rectangular area on the island marks the site of former buildings. To the west, east and south lie other earthworks.

{5} The main feature of the earthworks is a small moated site (marked 'a' on the earthwork plan), which consists of a rectangular island surrounded by a ditch 2m deep on the south-east, 1.75m deep on the north-east and north-west, but only 1m deep on the south-west. A low irregular mound in the interior may be the remains of a building. Plan.
