Full Description
{1} A large rectangular depression next to High Street is possible quarrying or a house site. The area has housing development planning consent. Info: G.Foard 00/05/1978.
{2} On the east side of Sow Green, between it and the south end of the present High Street, are further earthworks. Those immediately west of High Street (marked 'e' on the earthwork plan) all lay within a close belonging to John Ringrose in 1630, though the site of his house does not survive. The earthworks suggest that there may have been at least one other house here at some time for there is a large rectangular depression on the east side of High Street and low banks behind it suggest that earlier narrow closes existed here.
