Full Description
{1} The air raid shelter is of a type known as a covered trench shelter and was most likely built shortly before or during the early part of the war. The shelter comprises a long narrow rectangular structure. It is built throughout of concrete/conrete blocks, some of the latter rendered. Entrances with protective blast walls, open to the west at both ends of the shelter. Only part of the southern entrance was excavated and without further work it remains uncertain whether both entrances were accessed via a ramp, steps or ladder. Whilst wet, the shelter appears generally to be in good condition.
