Full Description

{3} Some exceptionally well-preserved furlongs still survive south of the village between the M45 motorway and the Ashby St. Ledgers boundary (SP563705-565698). Also in this area (SP563704) are blocks of ridge and furrow consisting of rounded ridges up to 1m high with subsidiary low ridges between them occupying the normal positions of the furrows. The purpose and method of formation of these is not clear.
