Full Description
{3} Part of 6 ridges were affected by development; here the tops of the ridges were approx 7-8m apart.
{4} LiDAR survey and site walkover. Six areas of ridge and furrow strips were identified. Additionally two headlands (large ridges forming at the junction of differently aligned strips), a possible holloway on the eastern side of the fields, and a probable quarry were identified. Several further small negative features were also identified.
Profiles across the areas of ridge and furrow show that widths vary from 5m to 11m, and height to a maximum of 0.5m. The ridge and furrow earthworks are not continuous and have in places been truncated.
The possible hollow way is aligned north-west to south-east along the existing rear boundary of the Manor House. The large hollow, presumably a quarry, is located in the western corner of the field, but was omitted from the 1st edition Ordnance Survey.
