Summary

Known as both Clark Lafford Leathers and Faringdon Shoes. A shoe factory and leather factor's works that was probably built between 1922 and 1924 and has a two storey, five-bay west front to The Avenue. This retains its original openings with the exception of a large taking-in doorway which has been converted into a window. The window sills and some of the lintels are of concrete. The parapet incorporates a panel for a signboard. On the north-west corner there is a stack.

Full Description

{1} Clark Lafford Leathers, The Avenue. Shoe factory developed in early 20th century, and is still in use by same company.

{2} First mapped in 1926.

{3} This leather factor's works, probably built between 1922 and 1924, has a two-storey, five-bay west front to The Avenue. This retains its original openings with the exception of a large taking-in doorway which has been converted into a window. The window sills and some of the lintels are in concrete. The parapet incorporates a panel for a signboard (now blank). On the north-west corner there is a stack. A flat-roofed single-storeyed addition to the south is of post-war date.
