Full Description

{1} A tramway was laid passing under the lane on Watergate Hill and down a slight slope to a bridge over the Cherwell to an elevated tipping dock, a total length of about a third of a mile. No motive power is mentioned but it was probably operated by gravity with horses to haul up empties back to the quarry.
