Monument record 6605/1/1 - Ditch & Bank Boundary

{1} Bank and ditch boundary of wood, outside of and parallel to the parish boundary. It continues the line of the post and wire fence.

{2} Post and wire fence delineates the south-east boundary of the wood parallel and outside of the parish boundary. This extends to south corner of the wood and is followed by bank and ditch for about 100m, then by a bank only, and rarely more than 500mm high. At SP97629632 the bank kinks in towards the wood for no apparent reason and then out again. A further bank folllows what appears to be encroachment of wood into the adjacent field. A pond lies inside the angle of the parish boundary. No evidence of bank or ditch following parish boundary in a north-westerly direction.

{4} Woodland boundary bank continuing line of bank and ditch, the ditch probably silted up. The bank is indistinct in places and at SP97629632 kinks in towards wood for no apparent reason.

{5} Bank and ditch earthwork observed. (RFP Rapid Survey?)
