{1} 1855 Reference to iron smelting here but this may have been an experimental furnace
1857 First pair of furnaces recorded here
1859 and 1863 Temporary shut downs
1865 Third furnace erected
1866 and 1867 Temporary shut downs
1981 Works closed
1898 Plant dismantled
George Pell erected first furnaces
S. Griffiths took over the works in 1861 but only for a short time
Heyford Iron Co. Ltd. formed in 1865 by George Pell
Charles Henry Plevins (Derbyshire Colliery owner) gained control in 1870.

Evidence of the layout of a small rural works.
Foundations of three ore hearths, approx 6ft in diameter, comprising circles of brickwork and white slag, rising about 18in above ground level./
Brick retaining wall on the north side of the railway embankment which is extra wide to accommodate sidings for the ironworks. Two inclines leading from the railway embankment down to the ground level of the iron works.
At the north west of the site are houses said to be associated with the works.
