Summary

Robinson Footwear (Formerly F.Cant Currier/Leather Dresser). This small shoe factory or workshop was originally built c1875 as a stable and cart-shed, and is situated in a yard to the rear of 28 Lorne Road. It is of brick construction and originally had slate roofs, now partially replaced with metal sheeting. The buildings were adapted for shoemaking in 1957, and in 1999 remained in use for the manufacture of orthopaedic and bespoke footwear. Access to the yard is via a cart entrance passing through the frontage house.
